Youth Unemployment - 'False Starts' Report

A new report has been published, examining the impact of the recession on young people in the UK. It has found that the majority of 18-24 year olds are highly motivated with a strong work ethic, they are keen to work and have a flexible attitude to the type of jobs they are willing to do.

The report, ‘False starts: restoring hope, dignity and opportunity to young people’, published by Reed in Partnership in support of Keep Britain Working, comes at a time when the number of under 25s out of work hits its highest level since the early 1990s.

The report outlines a strong need to challenge young people so they are more aware of the benefits of taking part in unpaid work and training as a means of developing their skills and future prospects.

The full report can be found here.
