I'd be extremely cautious about using web polls as the basis for even tentative government policy, as the contributing sample cannot be verified in any fashion.  The results of these various polls I find frankly rather amazing: most visitors believe unemployed 16 - 25 years old's unemployed during a recession should be made to perform voluntary work?  What's the sample size?  That policy would totally demoralise them, and this conclusion should be plainly obvious.  Being unemployed in the worst recession for 70 years is bad enough, but for a 16 - 25 year old out of school college or university it must seem like the end of their dreams and aspirations forever.  Stop economising and have some compassion chaps.
